Cody Kangas
Director

Cody received his Masters in Education Administration from Michigan State University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Management from the School of Kinesiology at the University of Michigan. Prior to coming to Michigan Tech in 2008, he worked in several academic and athletic outreach programs, including Ann Arbor Public Schools and the United States Olympic Committee. While at Michigan Tech Cody has served on a number of task forces and steering committees, managed the delivery of innovative outreach programming for several hundred-thousand students and families through federal and private-funded sponsors, and created innovative partnerships with stakeholders across K-12 schools, industry representatives, and non-profit organizations. He is a proud father of two girls and spends his free time with his wife and family, travelling, and playing the guitar.

Amanda McConnon

Amanda McConnon is a U.P. native who attended Hancock High School and received a Bachelorís degree from Northern Michigan University in Graphic Communications. Prior to starting at Michigan Tech in 2015, she worked as the Marketing Coordinator for a lifestyle shopping center in Middleton, WI where she created and lead all marketing, advertising, community events and public relations efforts. During that time she was an active Ambassador for the Middleton Chamber of Commerce and she continued her efforts in community growth and engagement when she moved back to the UP by serving on the steering committee for Keweenaw Young Professionals since 2013 and was a driving force in the  creation of an Ambassador program for the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce in 2014. In her free time she enjoys DIY projects, painting and training for running races with her dogs Lola and Ember.

Liz Fujita

Liz graduated from Michigan Tech in December 2012 with a degree in mathematics and social sciences. During her time as a student, she worked for Summer Youth Programs, was heavily involved in Mind Trekkers, and participated in mentorship programs with GEAR UP. Following college and now part of the core team, she is excited to be working on local programming for students in the Keweenaw. In her free time, Liz can be found hiking, kayaking, reading, cooking, and adventuring.

Rose Martell

Rose received her BS in Education in English and Art from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She worked for 17 years in the banking and investment industry. Rose joined the CPCO staff in 2001. She has 3 grown children and enjoys all wilderness activities, reading, travel, and perennial gardening.
